The Illinois Cycle Rider Safety Training Program has openings
for
instructors
and
range aides.
Over 18,000 beginner and experienced students receive
instruction each year at approximately 66 training locations
around state.
The Instructor Preparation course is free; however, there
may be a refundable registration deposit required.
Instructors average $355 per course and you determine the
location and frequency of when you teach.
Instructors
must have the following qualifications:

Are at least eighteen years of age
·
Have excellent verbal and written communication
skills

·
Have excellent social skills with a strong
interest in helping other people
·
Have an Illinois class "M" motorcycle operator’s
license or equivalent from another state
·
Have completed a beginner rider course
·
Currently operate a motorcycle on a frequent
basis and
·
Have a clean driving record with no possibility
for license suspension or revocation

Range Aides
receive $136 per course and you determine the
location and frequency of when you work. Range
aides assist instructors with a variety of
activities including:

Assist Instructors in setting up cones for range exercises

Assist Instructors in preparing motorcycles for instruction
·
Assist Instructors in maintaining motorcycles throughout the
course
·
Assist Instructors in securing motorcycles at the end of
instruction
·
Assist Instructors in keeping range and storage area clean
·
Assist Instructors in non-instructional roles during the
course
